Hi, will send you a private e-mail, this evening with a few suggestions. Cheers. Tonyt
Hi Tony is it not possible to share your advice with everyone. It could help lots of people if you posted on the forum.
DOA, Horseriding, there are large stables just beyond the Bus Station in Albena, a brilliant layout and some wonderful looking Horses in all sizes, they do have a web site if you need it.
Day out with a difference and a favourite of mine.
Bus into Varna (2008 prices) 3 lev each =12, then meander down to the Railway Station and catch the New Siemens Diesel to Dobrich at 11.05 (next one 13.05) 96 klms, 16 stations, Fag break of 10 mins at Valchi Dol (really, waiting for train to come from Dobrich, Single line) whole journey 2 hours, wonderful scenery and villages, stations are something to be looked at, fare for the four of you (2009 prices) 16 lev. You can then get off at Dobrich, wander to centre where food and shopping is less that halve you would pay in Golden Sands. to the Bus Station for Bus to Albena (2008 prices) 5 lev each, then onto Golden Sands.
If you haggle a taxi at Bus Station at Dobrich. No more than 25 LEV.
Now if you know Varna, go to Plaza behind K.F.C. walk on down bearing left at the Happy Grill carry on until you come to a row of flat roofed Shops on your right, turn right immediately as you get to them down this passageway is a glass building, which is the Information Centre, very good english spoke in there and so many places they can show you, further on, going downhill you will come to the Roman Ruins and Baths, on the right hand side of road is a sunken Church from the Thracian Times, well worth a look inside, to see the Gold and Icons etc. Two roads to the left of that is, the site of the Armenian Genocide, There is a plaque in School Playground also a church. You can tell I like walking, so comfy shoes are a must. Anything else, I will try and help. Tonyt

Cheers Tony. Its just nice for other members to be able to see whats being said.
Thanks Tony, the website addy for the Riding school would be most welcome.
You'll find some information on the Albena riding centre (and Albena in general) HERE. As Tony says, Albena is very accessible from ÷ûðтýø ÿÑÂÂÑÂÂъцø (Zlatni Pyasatsi) by minibus.
There is a large art gallery in Dobrich, an ethnographic centre (Stariya Dobrich/Old Dobrich) which features many of the traditional trades of the area (gold & siler smithing/woodcraft/leatherwork/pottery/craft baking/hatmaking, etc., etc.) and Starata Kashta (the Old House), which recreates the lifestyle of the merchant classes of the city in the late 19th/early 20th centuries.
Between Albena and Dobrich, in the village of Prilep (accessible via a forestry road from the village of Batovo) is çøфûøúð çуúурþòþ (Chiflika Chukurovo), an ethnographic complex which focuses on the agricultural history of the region and includes picnic area, hotel, bars and mehanas.
For general information on tourism in the Dobrich/Dobrudzha region, see http://www.tourism.dobrich.net/.
