I didnt go this year, first time since 2002. Last year I noticed a real change and stayed out of the BCC strip as much as possible as I really didn't like it. What I'd like to know though, is it getting worse? With the season being quieter by all accounts, are things beginning to change?
For anyone that has just discovered Goa and love it,please don't take offence at my post. I first went in 2002, and I have saw changes. I would like it to go back to how it was in 2002,but I know that wont happen. So please, some constructive thoughts as to the direction Goa is headed please.
Thanks
Martin
restraunt prices have gone up, but i would say, a reasonable amount.
the other main nationality that go to goa seem hell bent on changeing things for the worse. i no longer go to what was my favorite beach shack in mandrem because they were openly using cocaine there. ignorance seems to be a problem with that group of people!!
we ARE going again next year, for our 9th visit. it will be south Goa though. really quite disillusioned with the north.
still love Goa and the true goan people though.

I think Goa is different every season I come out here and it can change a lot within a season
I first came here in 1988 and stayed in a tiny village called Candolim .the stone house was a tiny stone cottage that was falling down and the place was run by a gang of bikers ..the only beach shack was Zuzu outside the Taj Village and if you wanted to eat there you had to order the day before..If you did not dine in your own hotel you had go to another hotel half a mile or more away as there were only a couple of other places that did food or you had to go to the big town Calangute..Souza Lobbos was the place to eat but only on a tiny terrace where you shared a long table with drunk Indians and what is now the main dining hall was mainly sleeping accommodation for Indian's to crash out in, there was no beach terrace or tables on the beach.
The main tourists were Indian or German and a few Brits that used to moan about them spoiling the place.
Yes Goa has changed unbelievably since then and in my opinion as a Brit mainly for the better, at the moment you have much better hotels, restaurants and entertainment.
Goa will keep on changing to cater for the main kind of tourists that come here but sadly they have no control over who that is.
