The hotel has large gardens and is on a lovely sandy beach.
The hotel is part of the Barut chain which is German owned and a true 5 star.
Another good AI is the Club Turban which is between Icmeler(my favourite resort) and Marmaris. It is set in a pine forest on the beach and has plenty of shade if you need it and plenty of pools. The rooms are in the main hotel building and scattered throughout the grounds. These rooms have 2 bathrooms and a twin room off the main bedroom. It is 1.50 miles along the beach path to Icmeler. We went here 2 years ago in June and we were glad of the shade as it was 49c the day we left! It is in the Thomson beach club brochure.
The Marti la Perla in Icmeler is a beautiful hotel but I think its a shame to go to Icmeler AI because of all the excellent reasonable restaurants.
I have stayed at the Sun City in Olu Deniz but didnt enjoy the hotel or resort. It is scenic around the lagoon but the Sun City beach is at the very end of it and consists of a grassed area and a tiny bit of sand.
I would get a few brochures, although some of the photos of the better hotels dont do them justice.
Its a minefield deciding where to go and everyone has their favourite resort
Are the Belckeic Beach, Olu Deniz Resort and Montana Pine all booked out for your dates in summer 2009 ?
I was wondering about the Olu Deniz Lykia World for you but it's a bit off the beaten track, but has a very efficient and reasonably priced mini cab service, they seem to be avaibalbe 24/7.
It has a fantastic 'pool scene' including two beautiful adult only pools and places to sunbathe on grass under pine trees, in the sort of sunloungers you get on posh boats lol. One of the adult pools is an infinity pool that looks out to sea. It also has a private but shingly beach.
The food is exceptional, in a different league to Egypt. It's Full Board Plus, so breakfast, lunch, dinner, wine, beer and branded soft drinks with meals.
The trips and activities in this part of Turkey are some of the best of anywhere I have been, in terms of the amount of different things to do and the general quality of them. With the possible exception of the mud baths which although we enjoyed as it was a bit of a laugh, was a conveyor belt 'tourist trap' experience in the height of summer.
It's almost like there is too much choice !
Doe
Your right Doe, there is so much to do and think about, now i realise why turkey is one of the most busiest forums I have sent off for brochures and reading up on all the travel sites, and still getting imput from all of you, which i might add is very complementary as i for once am out of my league. Give me a camel, shishas and a bottle of wine and i am sold Joke about the camel, too many humps for my liking Thanks everyone anyway. Oh and doe, some of the hotels i have tried to get prices for have indeed gone.

i agree with chris's suggestions, lykia world is out of this world and can be booked in loads of different ways, a lot of hotel only sites and packages do lykia, so if 1 is full try another, or you can even book direct, although i got given a higher price doing that :yikes, someone from HT booked through tulip holidays and said they got a good price

Having said that just had a peek at the hotels they have listed for Olu Deniz and Icmeler and there isnt much choice . Nice website though
