My opinion, having been all times of the year, October would be good, but, why wait, go in April as the weather will also be good. Sorry for not being too helpful, all times are good. This year they have suffered with a cold, cloudy and somewhat wet winter.
The south of the island will give you the most sun. Anywhere from El-Medano, near the airport, to Los Gigantes. The largest resort PDLA and Los Cristianos, which adjoins, seem to be the most popular.
Where-ever you choose enjoy Tenerife.
