Hi, we don't know anything about Turkey
Is there much to do for older teenagers? Not so much clubbing but places to go etc.theme parks or water parks or similar?
Thanks
Have a look at Kusadasi, it has got Aqua Fantasy water park just outside. I'm not totally sure but think there may be a water park outside Marmaris as well.
We ahve went to Altinkum for years with our kids and they love it. Older teenagers would never be bored there as there is so much going on and there is a water park there too.
White water rafting, jeep safaris, barbecue boat trips, scuba diving, snorkelling, water parks - all of these or most are available from most resorts in Turkey (quiet or busy ones), what more could you want? All in beautiful scenery as well! If you don't book through tour operators they are usually very reasonably priced as well. Its true that Turkey has something for everyone, our family have enjoyed it at all ages.
Atlantis Waterpark.
Aqua Dream
Star (not sure if this is still open)
Check out the Atlantis website and the facilities on offer

My youngest son and his 2 friends have been coming to Turkey with us every year since they were 16 and my son most years since he was 5. Now they are 20 and they have asked if they can come again this year!! We go to a very sleepy place, Datca. There isn't masses to do but they just like going for walks, swimming in the sea, taking boat trips, trying out windsurfing and seeing the Turkish friends that they meet every year. Turkish teenagers really love to practice their English on them and they all sit around on the beach at night playing guitars and singing. We love it that they still want to come away with us oldies as they are so much fun to be with.
Lots to do, paragliding, scuba diving, boat trips, lots of bars and restaurants with lively atmosphere, shopping, quite a few hotels with a lively pool scene, lovey weather so they can just chill out. AI hotels where you dont have to keep giving them money everytime they wish to buy a bottle of water or get an icecream, they can have a level of independance, without you really losing control of where they are and what they are getting up to so you feel they are safe. They can go and get snacks with their siblings or friends they have made without having to ask your permission, table tennis and pool tables and other games teens enjoy. I would say it's a brilliant destination for people with teenagers to holiday
Check out Lykia World Village and Club Belcekic Beach.

Something else that follows on from what Doepsmc was saying, is that it is a very safe environment in the resorts that I know around the Marmaris/Icmeler/Turunc area for teenagers, and probably in other Turkish resorts. There is a low crime rate, and bad behaviour is not tolerated by the authorities.
Yes I think that sums it up quite well Alfie. Obviously you have to know your own kids and how sensible they are, but it felt pretty safe to us compared to some other places.
Yes i agree we have a 16 year old and he just loves turkey, he is on his own so you would think it would be harder for him but the staff at the hotels encourage them to mix! We went at xmas and not many brits there but he met 2 girls from Luxenburgh and a german boy and he had a great time! We always feel safe letting have abit of freedom, but have to say we stay in AI resorts that have their own slides and discos in the hotels! Plenty for them to do and big resorts so they do not feel tied to mum and dad! we can keep an eye on him though!!
