We alway's take a thousand pounds with us , but I alway's have a back up incase its needed although have only had to use it once when I fell and needed it for the hospital (£400) if you have a credit card make sure you take it with you incase of emergencies, we don't have children with us.
Boat trips are good but don't book with reps, take a walk down the sea front and pick what one suits you the best.

We are also a family of four, My Wife and I plus two daughters (15&12)

Last year I took £130 a day but over the course of the holiday the actually averaged spend worked out at £118 a day, it would have better if the exchange rate hadn't dropped so much while we were there.

Our spends covered everything, drinks at Manchester Airport before departure, duty free for the room, Visa's at Dalaman, all our food (Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Meal), three trips, a visit to the Jewellers (Wife only wanted a simpe gold band ring £80). We drank what we wanted, the kids had ice creams when they wanted, I don't believe at any point we said no to something because we wanted to save money. It was a holiday without skimping.

I recommend the Jeep Safari, great day out, make sure you have water guns.

Lazy day boat trip is good, stopping at 4 or 5 bays for swims

Grab a water Taxi and head to Turunc for a few hours and have lunch.

Explore the castle at the harbour in Marmaris

Spend a day in one of the waterparks.

how long is a piece of string depends what you want to spend ,,we have been going now for 7 years sometimes 6 times a year so we no longer spend on clothes, bags ,jewelery,we have about 7 trips out in 2 weeks ,,boat ,,mud baths ect . we take around 12000 for the 2 of us ,sometimes we spend some times we dont , hard to say really ,when the kids were younger they were not impressed with copies so we bought in the boutiques that didnt sell the fakes ,, more unusual than what was available at home ,, teen years brought the tattoo , my daughter is addited now and all she wants from a holiday is a tattoo, , we always take our debit cards also for them unexpected pit falls , take what you can afford , by the second week arrives you will have a rough idea what you have left and then if need be budget ,,i find the first week we spend very little then the second week it doubles , mostly because of bar bills weve let build up .wish they wouldn t say pay next time , just a ploy to make sure you return there

hey,well my family came last year to see myself and hubby as we were living for the season in marmaris, my mum brought with her about £1000 and that covered it!we normally ate breakfast in apaprtment and had 1 or 2 soft drinks in the bar or in our apts and at night we ate out-most meals out for 5 of us was about 100 lira,we tried to alternate between going to nice places ie.on beachfront o'yes and normal place ie. place doing special offers just so money was balanaced out. we did 2 trips also, but we shopped around to get cheapest lol and at night we went to bowling and mini golf and trampoline, we also picked up few things like shoes, my sis had hair braided etc so my family were happy as they didnt want to go over thier limit too much! its not so much we very careful n thinking about money all the time either, we were just thinking and planning ahead! a couple of times my family got bit fed up eating out everynight so once or twice we went to kfc, only 10 lira a meal so same as uk really and hubby cooked for us in apt as well lol! i think its drinks that bump up and use a lot of your money so just be wary there!go to your apt sometimes to relax and drink rather than the bar and when out during day use teh supermarket for getting water,juice etc! have great hol!x

please, please, please - reassure me that you don't take TWELVE THOUSAND POUNDS for spends for 2 people......

1,200 GBP's is probably what is meant, which sounds about right for a fortnight for two. 12K and I would want the hotel to myself

hi,i am going back to turkey again in about 7 weeks 7 adults all inclucive at the salmakis beach hotel in bodrum 2 couples + 3 singles all over 50 last time we went was 1995.i did notice that the hotel is not on the reviews we have been told by a lot of people that its fine but wondered how much spends we will need for the 2 weeks is £500 per couple and £300 per single to much or not enough.if anyone out there can help, thanking you.
