For the last 10 holidays or so, (at different resorts/countries) we have always had rooms next to each other (either family or best friends). I think when you are on the same booking form this tends to happen more often than not?
If it doesn't happen, I'm sure the hotel will put you next to each other if you ask.

We have had 2 rooms now for a number of years . As long as they are on the same booking you will be accomodated as close as possible . We have always been given rooms either next door ,interconnecting or at the worst a few doors away but I would still put it on the requests as well .

If you are on two seperate bookings put it down as a request and email the hotel to confirm and reconfirm with hotel a couple of weeks before department.

Dont see any problem either way. :)

Once you have booked you could always email the hotel directly to ask again for two rooms next to each other. Most hotels will put families together anyway.

I have never used a company like Alpha Rooms or late great deals, so am uncertain how they operate, as I assume they are bed bankers. But have booked two rooms with the likes of Thomson, First Choice, Thomas Cook etc a number of times and have always been given rooms next to each other.
It has to be inserted under special requests at the time of booking by the agent.

I would say the only way you can guarantee this though is by booking and paying for interconnecting rooms, otherwise legally you dont have a leg to stand on. You are relying on someones 'goodwill' in the hotel. That said hotels normally try and accommodate folk as its not in their interests to upset paying customers.

Thank you for all the helpful replies.
About contacting the Hotel direct I have already emailed the Hotel to ascertain a price for 2 rooms next to each other. The price that I was quoted was almost £50 more than using Alpharooms of Great Late Deals which came as a surprise.
I would feel a bit awkward now if I booked through AR or GLD and then contacted the hotel again to ask them to try to accommodate us in rooms next door to each other. This leaves me in a bit of a qaundary. Am I best paying the £50 more and booking direct with the Hotel which would be a guarantee that we will get the 2 rooms together? :think

I wouldnt worry too much as they probably get hundreds of emails each week . Maybe leave it a week or 2 if you are worried.

something else to think about though if it's just the accomodation. An extra £50 booking direct could be worth the peace of mind of knowing that your money and booking is safe . With the amount of accomodation only providers going belly up at the moment you would know that nobody is going to go bust and take your money with them.

Also if booking direct you may not have to pay anything before checkout .

I dont know how much this is going to be costing you diddlyidi but if it's a lot of money the £50 extra may be worth it .

Do you know I would try it on ,email them back and say xx and xx have quoted me £50 less . Can you match it . Cant see why they wouldnt as they would be paying a booking fee to alpha or great late deals. Nothing to loose I would :)

Thanks Lynn
I will email them now and let you know what they say.I totally agree with what you are saying about peace of mind especially with a lot of the companies going bust recently

If it was me I would just email again before you go and say you have two rooms and could tey please make sure they are together. It wont matter who you have booked through.

The hotel has been back in touch and knocked £20 off the original quote.
They have asked for a deposit of £100 to secure the reservation and asked me to pay by direct bank transfer.
Will this be an additional cost to me and would it not have been easier to pay using a credit card?

It might have been, but if that is what the hotel is requesting you really dont seen to have much choice, As you are paying direct to a hotel in Turkey the Consumer Credit Act that protects purchases of 100GBP and over does not appy as far as I am aware, if that was your rationale.

IMHO I would rather give a bank transfer than my credit card details to an unknown organisation. Say (God forbid) you couldn't go for any reason they would have your card details on file.

We have no way for certain of knowing if it will be an additional cost, you will have to ask the hotel. I would imagine it would just be taken off of your total cost.

Gosh the Turks do love a barter dont they :rofl

I think diddlyidi means is there going to be an extra cost involved from her bank for doing a bank transfer Chris .

Afraid I dont know but I would imagine so and it would probably swallow up that saving .

I think hotels tend to request this for your security because of the risk of sending credit card details via Email. I booked direct with a hotel in Egypt recently and the reservations manager asked me not to email card details but to fax it to him . Ive also booked diving ahead in turkey and the website was set up with a secure site to send your card details via .

Is it Letoonia you are booking diddlyidi as I know you were looking there.

I would check with your bank and if there is a charge involved maybe you could explain this to the hotel and ask if there is a secure way for you to give card details .

We did look at Club Letoonia which looks fantastic however because we decided we needed two rooms as the bungalows would be too small to accommodate three of us it started to get a bit pricey and as this is a last minute holiday and done on a shoestring we have opted for Hotel Yel Resort-Ovacik which scores pretty well on Trip advisor (16/105 hotels in Fethiye)and has some pretty good reviews.
I have contacted my bank who have informed me it will cost £25 to send the money via bank transfer :duh
I may email them agian and explain this and inform them that I will be booking but using an agent as it is easier to pay using a credit card.
It is also £30 cheaper and I will also get 5% cashback as I will use a cashback site.
What a nightmare.

Good Luck. Nothing is every straightforward. :duh

Seems less complicated that way and if you do that just email them a couple of weeks before departure requesting 2 ajacent rooms .

Good luck
