I cruised on the Melody a couple of years ago for a week on my own. The cabin was basic but adequate. The entertainment was amateurish. The food was fine and you could get a half carafe of house wine for a reasonable price. I did a couple of excursions and the rest I did on my own - no problem. Its a small ship but I didn't notice any movement as such. There was a lot of creaking so take earplugs. Mostly it was Italians/Spanish etc but there was a few English speakers onboard so that wasn't a problem.
I didnt take part in any of the organised activities because by the time everything was translated into 6 languages I nearly lost the will to live!
However, I enjoyed the week's cruise and had no real complaints.

Were you a D Ex cruiser?
Thanks for the reply. I don't think I could put up with all those announcements unless it was a bargain price.

An ex DE Cruiser here - happy memories. Thought it was a friendly ship and the food was lovely but didn't see a great deal of the entertainment.
