Hi Guys
Needing a bit of medical advice if anyone can help.We are just back from Costa Del Sol(Playabonita hotel, very good). The thing is my better half has to carry a nebuliser with her now,and when we checked in at Glasgow airport they said our case was overweight and i said that i had the nebuliser in my case and i would remove it.I think to save any hold up she then said,do you have a doctors letter for it,and i said no.To save any further hold up she then just said oh just carry on it doesnt matter. It does show you how fickle the airlines can be at certain times.
My question is on the Doctors letter, can any of you experienced people tell me if a doctors letter is of any way a help when it comes to carrying medical gear on holiday and does it maybe grant you a certain extra allowance in your hold luggage?
On the way back i just carried the nebuliser in my hand luggage as they were appearing to be very vigilant at Malaga as well :yikes.I would be much obliged if anyone could fill me in with some info

We've always carried my nebuliser by hand, but years ago when it was a big old heavy hunk of junk it went in our cases and we just left out a few other things, i've no idea if the doctors letter would allow for it.
I know wheelchairs and things can be stowed in the hold no bother but not sure about the nebuliser.
Helen
Thanks again Helen, Jimbhoy.
You also might consider if putting the equipment in you hold luggage is sensible, what would happen if your luggage goes astray?
After an initial battle Easy Jet have now agreed I can carry my Cpap and my nebuliser as hand luggage as well as my other bag.
jimbhoy.
jimbhoy I've just weighed my little sonic neb and its only 506g complete with battery which is the heaviest part. It was a worthwhile investment and not only for travelling.
