Hiya everyone
I have booked to stay in the selen apartments (not hotel) in July next year with Scot Travel.
Has anybody ever been with them and are they any good???
Please let me know
thanks
We travelled to Icmeler last October with Scottravel and they were very good - great price and the holiday was fantastic. Not been to the Selen apartments though, although I've heard that they're fine.
I booked with Scot travel a few times and they are fine. My only complaint against them is the under occupancy supplemets they charge, I know its not just them. I have booked my accomodation for this year which came to £70, for the 2 of us, yet Scot travel are charging under occupancy supplement of £112 plus the cost of the accomodation. From what I can see, most accomodation in Turkey charge per room/apartment, whether there are 2 or 4 guests so where do the under occupancy costs come in??
Last time I booked with them even though I had my return flight ticket they told me it was invalid and the flight was cancelled.I had to collect new return ticket from Dalaman airport (the old one)No transport turned up at my hotel to take us to the airport and the hotel had to phone..I was alone with young child in buggy,Dalaman airport staff would not let me in without ticket and when I did find a scottravel rep he wasn't interested,he said he only dealt with people from marmaris and walked away leaving me stranded outside dalaman airport. It was actually a thomson rep that eventually came to help find my ticket. The thomas cook flight we were originally booked on was not actually cancelled and left on time.We had booked and paid for meals on flight but told they were not available for us on our new flight which left about 6 hours late.I vowed I would never book with this company even although I know who the managing director is,he really messed me about and I know I am not the first.
A lot of people from the North of Scotland have had problems with Scottravel, As when they book and fly from Aberdeen they are not told by Scottravel that they will stop in Edinburgh on the way to Dalaman to pick up more passengers and fuel, Also since the start of september people who book from Aberdeen have to travel to Edinburgh for the outward flight, Yet they charge less to fly from Edinburgh than from Aberdeen, And yes I agree the thieving occupancy supplement stinks particularly when they dont pay much money to the owners of these hotels, Book a flight and a transfer with Scottravel and go below and book your own accomadation which you will see is rather cheap.
You cant knock the JOCKS
I decided to check today to see if the price has changed and indeed it has, Its gone up by £240. I dont believe to coina phrase. They have now added on 2 "travel supplements" at £120 each. taking the price to over £1060 Talk about cashing in on other peoples misfortune with XL collapsing. I am sure it is not just Scot Travel, or is it who will be cashing in?????

hi, has anybody travelled or is going to travel to turkey with Scot travel? I booked flights with them in jan to Antalya only to have them cancelled 2 weeks before we were due to travel. I was given a voucher towards another holiday with them and thinking that the cancelled flights were a one off, booked another two holidays for easter and july 09. However two weeks before easter, our flights were again cancelled and alernative dates offered which we couldn't do. I am now due to pay the final balance of our july hol and am really worried about the same thing happening again! Has anyone else booked with them and what was the outcome?
We travelled to Icmeler with Scottravel in 2007 and I have to say we didn't have any problems whatsoever. It was a pretty much last minute holiday though - so there maybe wasn't much time for things to go wrong!
good to know you didn't have any problems with Scottravel, if i get a few more replies like yours, i will relax a bit more!
July is one of the most popular months to visit Turkey, I cant see your flight being cancelled.
Hi snowtiger, We've been twice to Turkey with Scottravel and had no problems with flights, transfers or accomodation. This year we've done it diy as it worked out cheaper, but would have no hesitation using them again.
hi molly malone, thanks for your reply, good to hear you have positive things to say about scottravel too.
I went with Scottravel in July 2008 and had no problems whatsoever....thinking of booking with them again this year.
the holiday was great the scot travel rep was crap and on the way home they told us we were now flying to aberdeen instead of glasgow which was bigger crap because our car was in glasgow!!! so we landed in aberdeen had to travel 5 hours to glasgow to pick up our car then drive the 5 hours home again so i would say to anyone dinna book with scot travel! going to hisanarou in may this year only 16 days to go and this time we booked with hays travel got a really good deal flying from aberdeen. hope u have a lovely holiday x
