Pippy,

There's an airport in Limoges with flights by Air France, Ryanair and Flybe. You'd have to go via Paris with Air France. Ryanair offer several departure airports (closest to LGW are Luton and Stansted) as do Flybe (but not from LGW, closest is Southampton).

Thanks Dazbo! :tup

Ok, I'll look into flying from Southampton with Flybe or Ryanair.

No good unfortunately as flights not daily. Never mind! ;)

Pippy, at least one of the advantages of using low cost carriers is that they are 'point-to-point airlines'. What about travelling to one airport and flying back to another to maximise the availability of flights?

If you look at Limoges Airport website - Aeroport de Limoges - you will see that it gives destinations from Limoges to various points in the UK ............. all courtesy of our friend Ryanair!!! Maybe it would be useful to fly say FROM Stansted and BACK to Gatwick or something similar. I do hope you get something!! The only other suggestion is to go to a main hub (eg Paris) and see if there is a suitable TGV .............

Let me know if you need further help with accommodation, and do keep us posted as to how your arrangements are going. ATB x

That's a great help, thank you! Just looked at flying via Stansted (not sure how far that is from Worthing, the beauty for me of flying from Gatwick is I can catch a direct train there) and I'd be able to fly (Ryanair) out on the Monday and back on the Wednesday. When I looked yesterday (can't remember which airline/airport!) I could only see a Sunday outward flight.

In your experience are flights likely to increase in the near future, or is it generally much nearer the time? At the moment the flights are £10 each way.

I'll post in the France forum for accommodation advice so come and fine me please! :rofl

Flights normally increase in price as the departure date closes in. It's often best to book early to take advantage of cheaper fares.
