There was a report on the BBC You & Yours programme today concerning Manchester Airport who have created a handy guide and children's work book with travel advice for parents and carers of children on the Autistic Spectrum to explain what happens on your journey through Manchester Airport

what a great idea. There are so many children with autism and a plane journey must be a bit of a nightmare.
Wish I'd had that YEARS ago. Son (now 16) has Aspergers and flying has always been a nightmare (too many variables in the where/what time/ how many / how long..................), starts with the trip to the airport, hightens with the check in and security queues and we are all gibbering wrecks before we get as far as the Departures Lounge
yay for manchester!!!
