The beach is not golden sand, I'm afraid to say. Its dark shingle sand. When we were in Marmaris a few years ago the sunbeds were free, so long as you purchased drinks / lunch from one of the adjoining bars restaurants. This may have changed, someone else may give you an update.

A BIG thanks for the replies....... :tup :tup :tup

Was worried that the sunbeds were costly - did read it somewhere.
My daughter went out and got a baby beach shelter for protection against the sun. I asume the local/holiday makers don't mind little babies sheltering in these during the hot sun...

Turkish people love babies and children, I remember being on Marmaris beach and the waitors would be playing with the toddlers, while their parents had a beer in their bar, they would rush out and carry in the pushchair for you. Its definately child friendly in Marmaris.

I stayed near the beach front bars when I was in marmaris in June and there is not alot of space between the sun loungers, not enoungh for a tent away. If you are staying futher away from the centre of marmaris then there may be more space to put a tent up!

I'm sure the beach boys will make space for your beach tent they will move the sunbeds for you as they are very attentive. Well they are on Icmeler beach where we stay anyway I am sure they will be the same in Marmaris.
