Simply to say that because of an Easyjet reschedule of 8 hours this morning from BSL to LGW, I have lost the second part of my point-to-point onward journey from LGW to KEF. The family will get there, (eventually!!!) but at an extra cost of 2400 Swiss Francs.

I had allowed a good minimum connecting interval of 5 hours between flights, but this was not foreseeable and there is no refund liability.

Just to remind folk that sometimes scheduled airlines have back up that the point-to-pointers don't have, and I will be eating my compensatory croissant and drinking my compensatory coffee with disappointment as I watch all the other departures leave on time.

MY COMPLAINT IS .............. that this is the second time in just over a fortnight that this service has been unable to run to timetable for the same reason. (Technical error on an aircraft, meaning that there isn't one in the right place ........). As Easyjet here is a separate company - Easyjet.ch - shouldn't they be under more pressure to have a spare aircraft in close rotation to Switzerland?

And it was just my luck that the usual live saving Swiss flight to LCY had also been cancelled for consolidatory load factors the night before - ie not enough folk to fly back to BSL from LCY and make a profit - so they were short of seats too.

And this is the sort of situation that even 'cancellation insurance' cannot cover, as it seems to be solely for illness requiring a doc's letter. GROWL!
