We will be staying in the Iberostar hotel in Panormos in October. This is a new area to me as I only really know Chania and the Western end of the Island (with occasional trips to Iraklion).
I understand that this hotel is quite isolated and I am not keen on hotels generally although this one has quite good reviews. Does anyone know how easy it is to reach the village/ harbour and any local bars and restaurants without travelling to Rethymnon?
Hi, The hotel is lovely, but is on its own. Panormos is easily reached - a 10 minute walk or there was a little train that used to run regularly until 11.30 pm. Panormas is a lovely little village with a few tavernas and a very small beach.
