the St George is just west of Chlorakas some 6.5 km from Kato Pafos [the harbour and main resort area] slightly closer to Neo Pafos [the main town ] i cant help with the beach quality i would suspect it will be mainly shingle as is most pf the Pafos district,

others to considder the Kefolos beach village aprox 2km from Kato Pafos or the favorite of the moment 2km east of Kato Pafos is the Aliathon you will find hotel reports on both in the cyprus hotel report forum and a few threads down the Cyprus thread below this a long rambling thread on the Aliathon

daughter is taking little one and hubby to the Aliathon all inclusive at the beginning of October and its well within your budget [obviously dearer in peak season] we have used the Kefolos in low season staff excellent,food good, sorry cant help with kiddies entertainment

No real good beaches in Paphos. Sandiest is probably at Coral Bay.

As Wizard says, most of them are shingly.

Seems to be a popular hotel. Apparently you are allocated your sun beds on arrival, but are able to put in a request to change them to another as soon as available.
