Thanks Les for your reply - lets hope so regarding the new owners. As you have stayed there is it near the Four Seasons Restaurant ?

I don't recall Four Seasons but it is near Captain and Sunset which are opposite one another on the main road to Fethiye.

Anybody been yet ? - looks like the hotel has been refurbished.

Have read some recent reviews on various forums and looks like the new owners have turned things around at the Balkaya Hotel as the reviews are very good.

Great news for you, now you can relax and go and enjoy the break you've been working so hard for.

Could you please advise if you can remember where the best sunbeds were to be had around the pool ie; where abouts around the pool did the sun hit first and was it okay in that place for most of the day ?

There is a wide area just out from the outside dining area, this is the best position. Failing this, the far end of the pool in front of the other accommodation block is the alternative.

Going tomorrow looking forward to it, have just put into my mind for 4 of us half board (although will eat out 1/2 the holiday - maybe the whole of holiday will have to see what the foods like) was not mega expensive so as long as there is somewhere to sleep and there is a pool we will be happy as we will be going to the Beach at Olu & going out on excursions quite a bit of the holiday. Yes have read some very negative reviews since having read some really good ones in the last few weeks but thats quite normal for Hotels(everybody have different expectations and forget it's only a 2 star hotel).

One other thing what time of year were you there and to get a sunbed did you have to put your towel out early or was it not a problem.

I had requested the Family room with the pool view which the manager Mursel has e-mailed me advising he has sorted this for us - i take it these rooms are the ones above the restuarant.
