We are lucky and have very short waiting times, but I chose them because of that. I guess you might pay more for those flights though . Qatar hotel prices are not cheap, looking on the web they start at over £100 per night so we thought best pay a bit more on the flights instead.
We are looking to use Qatar for other destinations in the future if they still offfer competitive prices so it's handy to know about their stop over policy.

Not sure but got a feeling a hotel provision depends on class of ticket(not just economy but there are loads of ticket classes depending on cost etc).Of course if you are delayed because of the airlines fault then they will accomodate you.
