Hi, does anyone know of any good AI hotels in Malta?
Generally when it is just me and Rob, we sort oursleves out and stay in Gozo but this time all the family want to come and will not stay anywhere unless it is AI. There would be 8 adults (2 senior citizens) and 2 kids (aged 10 and 4).
Don't mind particularly what area it is in but we are hoping to get the nephew through his OW so if there is a good dive school nearby that would be great..
Many thanks..
There are so many fantastic restaurants that I definetly wouldn't go to an AI place in Malta. You'll get very average food made out of the cheapest ingredients, that's how they make their profit on AI (and that includes everywhere else, not just Malta). If you are a family, then Malta is perfect for eating out. All restaurants welcome families and it's common to see families (of all generations) out until well past midnight.
anyway..I tried all the usual package stuff and could only come up with Qawra Palace in Salina bay which was thier ideal place but our worst nightmare...
in the event..they have lost interest coz I have said Malta is not like that and they will probably end up somewhere in the Costa's..
as for Rob and me, we are now looking at staying on mainland Malta in a little secluded place near to this diving school where he will be doing his DSAT..and where I can wander off and lose myself in the history of Malta..
Not used to staying in mainland Malta..I may even post for advice as i havent got a clue where to stay..may opt for Sliema in a B & B or HB unless we go DIY..
thank you for your reply tho..xx
We have been big A/I fans for the last few years mainly Egypt/Turkey but that has been due to the fact that it suits us as a family at the moment and we would need a fortune to fund the boys in their antics until 5am .
As you know I looked into finding somewhere suitable for next year on an A/I basis in Malta and came up with nothing . Only places that were half suitable were the coastline (now been taken over by Saga) and the Ramla Bay (very isolated) so kinda gave up and decided to head off to Cuba instead and then in 2011 I hope to do something different and head to gozo for a week B+B (maybe the Calypso) and then have another week in the UK.

Years ago we heard good reports about the Fortina Spa Hotel and always promised ourselves that when we could afford it we would treat ourselves. Is that hotel not so good now?
