Ive been to most areas of Spain, except the costa Dorada. Just flicked through a few threads and it seems people return year after year to Salou?
In a nut shell, what draws you back.

Very short flight and transfer time
Port Aventura and water park
Beautiful beach at Cap Salou (next to Negresco)
Tarragona - Roman ruins, Cathedral, shopping, beach
Cambrils
Train ride to Barcelona

This will be our 2nd visit back. We loved it last time reasons being:
Flight time not too long
Nice clean beach and sea and the sun and warm
The theme and water parks
If you want culture Barcelona is hour away on the train or Taragona i think was 20 mins or so on bus
If you not keen on trying other foods there is plenty of English/Irish owned restaurants as well as Spanish
We felt safe there and didnt have any bad experience to be honest
short flight
lots of different options for booking (ie DIY or cheap package)
Great weather, ie hot but not too hot like Turkey/Greece in height of summer
Port Aventura Park
Costa Caribe Waterpark
Barcelona for cultural day trip or shopping trip, on train
Close to Tarragona for day trip
Been half board, but all sorts of options for eating/drinking out if you wish
Nice prom in main part of salou town.

its a very cheap D.I.Y holiday
it has loads to offer families
the weather (fingers crossed)
the beaches
its just easy

First timers to Salou in acouple of weeks. Great to read peoples comments but can someone tell us where to find the fountains as we had not heard about them? Thanks.

Thanks- we will try and find them.
