Reply
Ellie_meg did you have to give details for the thomas cook flight. We fly with them next year to dalaman.

I've just checked the TC website for information about API at http://www.thomascook.com/travel-info/before-you-go/
It doesn't seem as though the API is required yet but if it is, TC will notify you in your confirmation email.

Throughout 2009, the UK Government will implement its requirement for Advanced Passenger Information from all passengers travelling internationally into and out of the UK. This is being rolled out on a route by route basis over the coming year.
It looks as though the onus is on the airline your booked with to advise whether you need to supply it or not.

This has some useful info and good links for info:

I've just checked the Thomson website for info on API as this is who we are travelling to Turkey with and they collect this info at check in at no charge which is why it wasn't mentioned in our confirmation email.

i think the same happens for us whyen flying to tunisia in october with Thomson , information is collected at check in .

BA informed me they needed API for my flight to Tunis on 22nd so have done it on line today. It only took a couple of minutes so at least it's one thing less to worry about. Does anyone know if now this has been done I won't have to do it again if flying with another airline in the future?

You have to fill the API in every time unfortunately. Every time we've been to Spain we've had to even if it was the same airline :(

ive got a holiday booked to turkey next mth and i havent been asked for this api we are flying out with easy jet and back with tc

going to istanbul in dec and had to fill it out

going to corfu next year and not been asked yet

its all very confusing grrr

Hi Ellie, if you look at those links I posted Corfu isn't included (yet!)

It may well be that TC & EJ will collect the API at check in which is what Thomson are doing. If they haven't asked then they don't get and I can only assume that's because they're prepared to collect the info this way rather than via their website

I added API to an Easyjet Dalaman flight earlier in the summer and then booked further Easyjet flights to Dalaman. On receiving the confirmation for the second flights, the API was already filled in, though there were drop down boxes to alter details if you had a new passport etc.

Easyjet will collect the API from you at check in but they advise you on their website to turn up 90 minutes before check in to do so. Surprisingly, they don't charge for this!
