Good Luck x lassi
My partner and I are getting married in Goa 4th Feb 2010. We will do the legal bit in the UK, but will have a beach ceremony with family and friends in Palolem. I have spoken with various wedding planners and am a little worried about all the services I need (cake, marriage specialist to perform the ceremony, flowers, decor, entertainment).
Does anyone have any experience of this or recommendations?
I know Goa very well, as we have visited plenty of times. But the wedding arrangements are obviously all knew to me!
I have been to two weddings on the beach in north Goa and both were organised by the shack owners or people they knew. They hired in the sound system, stage/ flooring, extra furniture and catering equipment.
The first one arranged for the couple to arrive at the shack on elephants also sorted out the minister and a DJ for the evening, the second one did not have the elephants but had a cabaret in the evening with an African dance troupe and other acts.
Both were fantastic experiences but I was glad I was not the father of the bride picking up the bill
I am sure someone in Palolem can arrange a dream come true for you and your partner but have a good think on what you would like for your special day and do take into account it will happened in GMT (goan mean to time)
We got married in Goa January 2008, although we had a civil wedding in the uk before we left. Monica from Monicas shack organised a catholic church blessing for us, followed by a convoy of tuck tucks back to the beach, we then had an elephant to transport us across from the back of whispering palms hotel to the shack, we had a DJ, fire eater, traditional goan style dancing first (a bit like apples & lemons) followed by goan snacks (canapes) then had the meal later once the sun had set, we had ice carved elephants as well as loads of other things, it really was the best day of our lives and all our guests had a great time as well, on our anniversary this year we all went back to the church and had a blessing followed by a day out in panjim and deli durbar its now an annual event for us and our friends Hope you get sorted and have a great time
I am getting married in South Goa (Palolem) n 4th February 2010. My wedding planner has let me down and any suggestions would be most helpful:
We have the venue/food/drink all sorted and booked
However, I need help finding the following:
A minister to marry us
Flower decorations and bouquet
Cake
Entertainment (DJ)
Fireworks
Decoration (lanterns/chinese lanterns)
Generator
If anyone can recommend people to help me with the above, I'd be so grateful.
Thank you
Lucy
I've merged a few threads together which may help a little. Hopefully regulars can help with advice as well. Congratulations by the way
