Hello, i fancy a little getaway from this horrible british weather, and i have noticed that Lanzarote seems to be pretty cheap.
Ive had a few quotes off 'on the beach', and they are quite cheap. Are these recommended, or do they mess you about?
Also, ive heard the weather will be around 20degree's in Jan, is this true?
Im not looking for anywhere very warm, but somewhere a bit warmer than the UK.
We're looking at staying in Peurto del carmen. Will this resort be 'open', as it is a year round holiday destination isnt it?
Last but not least, i dont think our transfers are included, so how much would a transfer cost from the airport?
thanks very much
p.s looking at booking next week
Re transfers total cost with Travel Republic by shuttle bus is £20 for 2 people return or £39 for a return taxi.
PDC will be open it's one of the bigger resorts
I have checked on the website and it says that we get 10kg of hand baggage per person, but if we want to take hold baggage we will need to pay for it. I think they said £36 per leg of the journey.
I take it this means £36 each way per person? that works out expensive
I would suggest that you use the Search facility as OTB are mentioned in both our Tour Operators and Complaint forums.
Hi Luci, i did actually use the search facility before i made the post, but it would let me search because it said the words were too common.. i searched for 'on the beach'.
Yes our search facility is pretty pants in that respect if you care searching for common words. Even if you put quotation marks round it it still won't recognise it as a phrase.
Hi again
http://www.easyjet.com as they are having a half price luggage sale at the moment £18 each return - ah just had a thought wonder if the £36 is for 2 people return if not check out easyjet and book the flight yourself. Shop around for your transfers, then check out accommodation you might be able to do it cheaper yourself?
I'm not sure where you are flying from but check If you are thinking of getting a taxi, I would just get one outside the airport, the queue goes down pretty quickly, and should only cost around 17euros each way.
PS. Easyjet are a bit sneeky suggesting a half price sale for baggage, it actually says it's half the price if booked on line as opposed to paying at the airport. - It's been £18 per bag for ages.!!
Ideally i would want to get something booked next week, because if i leave it until after new year, i might spend the money
I have seen quite a few late deals on first choice, flying out in a few days, so would it be worth my while to wait until a week before departure and try and find a deal to any of the canary islands?
We want to fly out anytime after 15th Jan.
thanks
Nicola
I usually keep looking every day and search all options, diy and package, and if something comes up I'm happy with I will book it.
The weather is usually a bit warmer in Tenerife or Gran Canaria in January, we are going to Gran Canaria at the end of Jan.
Hi Caz, i hope you enjoy your holiday , what date are you going and what resort? will it be quite busy in Jan? i dont mean as busy as the summer, but i dont want it to be a ghost town.
I feel most resorts will be like that with Christmas just coming up, but it won't bother me so long as the sun shines.
Thanks for your good wishes and hope you find something....Caz
i dont get paid until next week, so i hope the flight prices will be similar
i forgot to mention its to peurto del carmen in lanzarote
will it be sunbathing weather, and are there water sports on the beach?
thanks
Hopefully you will be getting a nice tan but it won't be hot like the summer.
Not sure about water sports.
Just noticed your other post and I will say that Costa Teguise does get quite windy (even in the summer) and will feel cooler than the other resorts on the island especially in January, Playa Blanca is the mildest, but is a lot quieter than PDC.
Hi Caz, yes we have decided on CT because ive spotted a really nice hotel there, but now you say it is very windy there, i might reconsider and book something in another resort. Im still wanting to go to Lanzarote, already been to Gran Canaria as a child, so want to try somewhere new.
Hi can anyone tell me the legal amount of ciggies i can bring back from lanzarote please?
Hi and welcome to HT!
Just to say been to ct twice for 2 weeks at xmas and didn't find it that windy. Weather was nice not unbearable like in the summer.
Yummy just to let you know when trying water sports the water is freezing at this time of the year. The heated pools are like getting in when your out there in the summer.
I'm going back to ct on the 21st Looking forward to it now.
Enjoy
HIya. We go to Lanzarote in January every year and alsways find it pleasant weather. It can be cool in a morn or the evenings tho so be sure to take some long sleeves etc! I can recommend a few places but I anticipate as I am late that you have booked or maybe even gone by now. Let me know.x
