Notification e-mails

I don't know what gremlins have got into the system today but I've had half a dozen e-mails notifying me of 'new' posts where the post concerned was actually long ago, sometimes as far back as August last year, and a couple where I was the last poster.
Someone spammed several of the forums today. The posts were removed immediately, but unfortunately the email notifications would already have been dispatched. By the time you would read the email and visit the forum, the evidence would have been gone.
