I would just like to say that I will miss sliema2 his comments and wit made this forum one of the best. I strongly disagree with the drastic action that has been taken.

About time to as his sarcastic/abusive comments and attitude have gone on far to long and they were the reason i stopped posting on this board.

We all have our own opinions but don't go to town with them.

Banned :duh , how dare they, he didn't even get Biffed about first, what a great fella, he (or she) put the fun in funny. Some people just can't take a bit of friendly banter, sure he will reincarnate as maltamouth or something, see you Sleima 2, you can share an egg with me anytime. :tup

For the record Sliema has been warned in the past about some of his posts. I'm not saying anymore on the matter.

Sorry.

Is there a little icon to show a round of applause for the mods or whoever took this decision. You have my total support, maybe now a few more members will feel like posting on the forum again.

first time I've posted on the malta board!

I'm a regular on some of the others :D

a work mate is coming to Malta this year, I recommended
this site to him, he's going to qwarra!, we read several pages,
over a few nights. He wouldn't let me post his questions
because of sliema's attitude!

I pm'd mods/admin and told them.

I doubt I was the only 1 to complain!

I'm all for different points of view! freedom of speech etc etc

but the team on here have to try to keep it helpful and friendly
or at least civil! :D

I think they do a good job and made the right decision.

Members are rarely banned on one isolated incident. It is normally after persistent abuse or disrespect to the other members as well as complaints received. It is always discussed by the team first before any decision to ban is made and no, we don't always agree.

To be fair i spent the day in Buggiba and Qawra today and found it to be extremely clean compared to most of Malta, especially along the coastline, nice peaceful and very enjoyable, It was not long before i was approached by a time share rep. but she soon went away when i shown my disinterest in her prize tickets, in percentage terms bringing back hanging or Sliema2 which has the bigger odds?

:D thank you! the questions aren't mine, they're a work mate who is not
on nights this week. he was meant to be booking this week, I'll find out if he has
next week, if so we'll be back! :D

Vee Dee, Buggiba eh! I guess you have bought a new Sat Nav'
hope you brought your I.D. card in case you were stopped by the authorities.
If hanging were to be brought back my thoughts would be that sliema2 would be the first to go.

I'm also very sorry that the mods have seen fit to ban Sliema2. I haven't been very active of late on this site but although Sliema2 has his opinions, having visited Malta since the seventies, I do somewhat agree that there are some areas which seem to 'gone down' in the name of tourism. I guess this was inevitable but I have to say that I do have my preferences, where I stay on the Island doesn't really bother me as long as I can hire a small car, which I do, then I can really explore and visit whatever, whenever.

I personally have been able to tap into Sliema2's vast knowledge of Malta, which I can assure you is from his experience and contacts with friends he has on the Islands. I've recently decided to have the first week of July on hols in Malta. I can tell you that I've been in contact with Sliema2 to pick his brains about various things I'd like to do while there. As ever Sliema2 has obliged with info. Costs me nothing as with all the free valuable info he has given folks on this site!!

Once again I'm sorry that this course of action has been taken,

I totally agree that the bloke could be/was/may yet again, be a great asset to this site but....always a 'but'. When answering questions about areas if you do not like an area say just that. There is no excuse or justification in being outright rude, vulgar and offensive. I do not like Sliema/St Julians area and would not stay there again, end of
When I am asked my opinion on Malta I give as much useful info as possible but always end with... 'look beyond what you can see'
I too am going again in July and no dubt will take in a short visit to Sliema/St Julians

Hi, M & N  , I do have a new sat nav' how perceptive of you, unfortunately it turned into just another back seat driver, first words out of it were "you're breaking the speed limit", it's been assigned to the glove box, you just don't need it do you? Are you implying that Sliema2 needs hangin? We had some good fun in the past so i can't agree with you on that one. all the best to you and N. be seeing you. :cheers

Hi Vee Dee. No I was merely joking about hanging Sliema2 My comments on the matter are further up on this posting. Your sat nav should have an option to switch off the 'breaking the speed limit' warning. So you can make use of it again p.s. It's mothers day over here on Sunday :tup . Will you be going or doing anything nice?

 ,M & N, Mothers day here isn't until May, mummy has been told this but is finding it hard to accept as she will be long gone back home by then, whats the saying "when in Rome". :rofl
