We stayed at the Kefalos a few years back. It is not that far from the harbour if you walk along the coastal path, although it will probably be too hot in August to do this in the daytime. Hotel was fine, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Stayed at the Kefalos last july
Nice Hotel but the drinks are expensive there
Would recomend you do not take the coastal walk as that in my opinion is longer by about 10mins
Go up to the main road and turn right and keep right takes about 20mins
Good bus service down to the harbour also
