We were around the other day up and down the coastal path... yes near the Rising Star was some building work on a new pier/jetty ! A rather large boat with a big crane was moored up and using a big pneumatic hammer to drive steel posts directly into the sea bed ! Yes it was very noisy and was echoing back from the hotels nearby (rising star etc)... however they seemed to have finished with the pile driving and the boat had gone after a few days.

Most other building work (as there always is in Protaras/Pernera) is usually much less intrusive and you won't really notice it unless you go looking for it (that being the case you should maybe think about getting a life.. LOL ... he says having been filming it... LOL )

if its to do with the coastal path.. then that may come to a halt for a while as they have uncovered 4 what seem to be pristine tombs from the 3rd century BC

Thanks Askcy, if that racket is going on I think i will be going to sit right down the other end of the beach rather than on the grassed area at Rising Star, Hey ho plenty of places to chill out anyway but no wonder we got the "warning letter"

I came back early Monday.they have finished the work on the jetty(posts) but there is work going on at the villas.This however is more cosmetic, painting , tiling etc.We stayed in the annex building which looks right onto the villas and never had any problems.It would however take more than abit of noise and building work to spoil my holidays in Cyprus. Enjoy your holiday :cheers( You could if you wanted sit round by the newly renovated and re-opened Golden Star pool area.)

Just called Mavrikos (The owner of Rising star, Rising sun, Golden Star, Yianna marie etc) and he is also having his resturant refurbed so that could cause noise/disruption although, i don't think it will be too bad now as most noisey things were completed in winter season.
