Hello,
Just looking at holidays for next year, we are thinking of going to Gumbet, we are going to Olu Deniz this year and have previously been there 3 times and twice to Icmeler.
Just wondering if anyone has been to Gumbet with small children, our twin boys will be 2 years old by then, just wondered of what they thought of Gumbet with children?

PaulaL,
I used to live in Gumbet when my oldest daughter when she was a baby and we still take our two girls back every year (they are now 6 & 3). Gumbet is a lovely resort for children, the beach is nice, some parts are a but stoney but there are also parts where it is nice and sandy and easy to get into the water.
There are lots of good hotels and apartments, we usually go SC as we prefer the space and freedom of having an apaprtment. With young ones it is best to look for something down by the beach as some other parts can be a bit hilly if you wnat any recommendation please let me know. There is a good choice of restaurants and they will all cater well for your little ones, as you must know from before the Turks love children and will look after them well.
I hope this helps and if you want to know anything else just ask.

I couple of apartments I have been looking at are Tropicana Beach and Club Pedalisa, do you know any of these?
What is Gumbet like? Is it very big? Obviously I only have Olu Deniz and Icmeler to go on, oh and have been to Altinkum, but my husband wasnt keen on Altinkum because of all the hassle. That was 7 years ago though.
Is there many places to visit? Trips to do? Play areas etc?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a picture of it!!
Thank you
Paula
Gumbet isn't very big, the main street is pretty busy in mid season but there are also lots of nice, quieter parts for families too and if you go early or late in the season it wont be so busy as in July or August.
There are lots of day trips and you can also easily travel round the Bodrum Peninsula by dolmus, even with the little ones. Many of the beach front restaurants have play areas and there is a nice sized children's play are not to far from Tropicana and Pedalisa.
Keep asking all the questions you want, that's what we are here for

Roughly how long is the transfer from Bodrum?
I cant think of any other questions at the mo but sure I will!!
If you think there is anything you can tell me that might help would be great.
Thanks again
Paula
If your boys are still in nappies then you wont need to bring it all with you as there are some good supermarkets just outside of Gumbet where you can get everything you need, nappies, wipes etc.

Do you know anything about the Club Alka Apartments Kedi?
PaulaL,
huge hill so that is something you need to consider with a pushchair.
I would say Tropicana or Pedalisa would be a better choice.
Club Alka are in the resort centre, they are nice apartments but I have a feeling it may be a bit noisy at night being pretty close to bar street and the loud music coming from the busy bars. I did have a look at them whilst trying to find somewhere for us to stay this year but my husband said he didn't think they would be very good with the children. It is also up a I would say Tropicana or Pedalisa would be a better choice.
Thanks for that, I will look for something a bit away from the centre.
