Maybe Glasgow, but not Newcastle. I did find a flight to Lanzarote for Boxing Day from Glasgow but the times weren't very good and as we don't drive it was going to be a bit awkward to get through to Glasgow on Boxing Day.
Have you tried Ryanair? They started flights to Lanzarote in October and are continuing them this Summer so in all probability they will carry on through this winter.

Edinburgh is one of those places where it seems you cannot get charter flights
by Thomson/Thomas cook to Lanzarote. FlyGlobespan used to operate
then Ryanair partly filled the gap.
If you want a package holiday here then it seems Glasgow is the place to fly from...
