Sounds good. Is it easy to get to.?

My family owns a lovely house in Amasra :) From Istanbul, it takes around 4 hours by car but some parts of the road are not great so you might want to catch a bus instead which would take slightly longer. However, I would recommend driving if you are brave enough as there is so much more to see in the area. There are also Turkish tour companies that do weekend trips to the area which might be easier. Avoid weekends in the summer and also Turkish public holidays. Make sure you visit the local market as they sell great fresh produce and definitely eat at Canli Balik which is the best fish restaurant ever in an amazing setting.

Yes we ate there.Great As for getting there as I remember some buses go straight to Amasra and some you have to change in Bartin(?)

Yes that is correct. All buses would stop at Bartin but some also carry on down to Amasra. Just out of curiosity, how did you come accross Amasra??

Sounds like you have seen more of Turkey than I have! There are many parts of Turkey that I have not yet seen, including Egirdir but hopefully one day I will see all of those places :)

Do you know of any places to holiday that is near to Konya? I wouldnt want to stay in Konya, but if there is a nice resort nearby by a few hours, I would appreciate any information on it. Not too touristy either would be great.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The nearest resorts to Konya are in the Manavgat / Side / Alanya area.. It is quite a touristy area though :) I guess you can go down the other way to Silifke, I have not been there myself but I know that it is a quiet town which is not touristy at all.

Thank you for that information. Would you know which airport to fly to, to be nearest to these places?

Well there is an airport in Konya but you wouldn't be able to get a direct international flight there so you would need to fly in to Istanbul and take a domestic flight from there. Failing that, you can fly directly in to Antalya and go from there.
