Hi, I'm going to Benidorm with my husband (both in our 40's, no kids) for the very first time at the end of October. We are only staying 5 nights, so want to make the most of it.
Can anyone recommend places to go (won't be hiring a car), things to see, bars to visit, shows to book etc?
We've been to Spain many times usually to the other Costas or Balearics, and thought we'd give Benidorm a try - as I found some really cheap flights to Alicante!
We are in apartments but will be eating out all the time.
I'm looking forward to reading any replies.
Thanks
i would just walk round and find your own stuff to do.ie bars ect.lots of bars have some show on or other acts.big place to see.depends if you catch a weds/sun then visit the outdoor market which is on.but like i say walk round and be able to walk.if i was to say a place is just up the road and its a mile away would you walk that far.
What apartments are you staying in
Shops & Bars everywere. massive beach. A trip to Altea on the no 10 bus is a lovely change.
Please dont expect Costa del sol if you have been there it's nothing like it.
Hope you Enjoy it.
I beg to differ. There is loads to see and do. 5 days won't be long enough to scratch the surface. Pick up the free newspaper "Round Town" which is available in the hotel receptions and in bars. It will give you ideas of what is going on, bus and train times, etc. What you get up to will very much depend on the weather. We are also going last week in October and can't wait.
I love the Old Town but did not like the New Town much at all. If you want to catch the cabaret shows and eat English food all the time then the New Town is fine but I much preferred the food on offer in the Old Town. There are two huge beaches, Levante and Poniente and inbetween the two is a little beach which we used most days and where the Spanish seem to go every morning. We stayed at the Terralta apartments which I can highly recommend if you don't mind a bit of walk down the hill to the Old Town.

We are staying at Paraiso Ten apartments which seem to have mixed reviews. So long as they are clean and the beds are reasonably comfy that's all I'm bothered about as we won't be using the kitchen.
It sounds like the Old town will be more my cup of tea. I enjoy a glass of local wine or beer, maybe with a little tapas, for lunch! Will I know when I've found it?
We are both able to get about so shall be walking the length and breadth of Benidorm every day I suspect.
Personally as a family we love the mix of old and new towns in Benidorm and I fail to see that in five days you will cover alot of stuff to be done. We have been going now since 2003 and still find something to do each and every time we go
Enjoy and have a lovely time
