Wrote last year about problems that we'd had with claiming on an insurance we'd had from COOP Travel. This resulted in the loss of a holiday - about £1,500. We admitted last year that we were a little naive in not checking on some pretty 'duff' advice we were given by them at the time.
Anyway, as its a new year, just to add - well done to the same travel office! We have discovered that they have a changed their insurance form and it now asks more direct questions re the illness of relatives (it is MUCH clearer re disclosing previous illnesses of relatives) and yesterday while we were picking up brochures we overheard a rep selling a holiday. This rep really laid it down quite strongly that the people at the desk HAD GOT TO mention ANY previous / present illness to the insurance company, no matter how 'minor' it may seem, as if they didn't they could lose out on their holiday if the worst came to the worst.
We came away really impressed - it would be great if all travel operators had a similar. clearer system. Wanted to say, Well done to them as we gave them some rough 'press' last year!
Hopefully, things are looking up!
Dunno if this is on the right forum but wanted to put it here to let people who may have read the original posts in 2004 to have the chance to read it. To be honest, also wanted to let anyone who thinks Holiday Truths folk are just moaners to realise that we're happy to give credit where it's due!
Anyway, cheers everyone - happy new year, and best wishes to everyone on Holiday Truths site; especially to all of you moderators who do such a great job. Thanks for all of your help and support last year.
