hi all,
having just joined tonight i was hoping for some help on going on holiday to
sami beach hotel in may
can someone advise to its facilties etc plus is there a hamman near by. And can you topless sun bath?
thanks Linda
As the name suggests the hotel is right on the beach and in the central part of it too.The front of the hotel leads out on to the main evening entertainment street'Bar Street'.Ask for a beach side room or pool view room if you are a light sleeper! It is a nice friendly place to stay with many staff who have worked there for several years.
A little further down the road(come out of hotel and turn right)you will see ParkÃâ€ΕΎÃ‚±m Ayaz hotel and right across the road from there is Nirvana Hamam which is absolutely superb, immaculately clean and hygienic with wonderful views over the bay.Google Nirvana Spa Club and you'll find their web site.
Topless sunbathing...hmmm...strictly speaking this is not allowed in Turkey BUT many people do both around pools and on the beach. The key thing here is discretion. When by the pool put your top back on if you get up to go to the bar or the loo don't wander around giving everyone an exhibition.Even other tourists may not wish to see your bits Again on the beach when you leave your sunbed put your top on,this is even more important here as there may well be Turkish families around who would/could be offended.I know it is nice not to have white lines on your suntan but wandering around topless is inelegant, tasteless and unnecessary.
You will see plenty of women sunbathing topless but just be discreet. You will also see fair few wandering about topless too and, although nothing may be said directly to them the comments that follow behind them would make a sailor blush
Have a great time!
lindandpete,
As for topless sunbathing, you will see some people do it but it can be frowned upon by the locals so if you do go topless do try to be discreat. I too have heard comments made by Turkish people about topless women
Have a good holiday
This maybe because it was in May and guests were mainly young families and older people.
