Helen I called into a different Thomson to the shop I booked today and asked if they would have a record of it on my file as I didnt have any documents to say so.She said it would be fine as thanked me for taking the trouble of taking stuff.
I could phone Thomas Cook airlines in the morning but I know its difficult to get through.
If they do refuse it I will just leave it at the airport and they can send it to the Salvation Army. :que

That would be a shame. Pity that they couldn't have given you a letter of some sort to take to the airport.

I am sure it will be fine as the girl in Thomsons who phoned Thomas Cook had my booking on the screen and she gave TC my booking reference etc and she said the details had been added to our file.
Its probably just me getting anxious before my holiday. :que
I didnt sleep last night and doubt I will tonight as I am watching the news at the moment and wonder how the No Fly Zone over Libya will affect my holiday to Tunisia. :yikes

This thread made me laugh glad it's not just me who stresses, i'm terrible. I empty fridge and freezer, ask hubby to turn off electric and water before we leave as i worry we might have a fire or a flood. I leave a key with a friend so she can check on the house while i'm away. I have to make sure i have water for the short trip to the airport then dump it undrunk before security. Once through security i buy more water for the flight and the transfer and arrival in resort (just incase they've run out of water on the flight or no shops bars open when we arrive in resort, i know). Funny thing is once i'm on that plane i don't give these things another thought until we land home. It's only holidays that make me act so irrationally. Hubby is another who falls out of bed 15 mins before taxi is due, jumps in shower and is ready to go (once he's turned off water and electric) knowing i'll have sorted all tickets passports and money.

we dont have to worry about turning gas electric water off before we go away as we leave two children behind , i always do a grocery shop the day before we go away so they have something to eat , and then throw it away when i come back because they have lived on take-aways , love getting too and being at airport until they call the flight and thats when the panic sets in , do i go through or not , i hate taking off and landing if i could miss those parts out then i would fly every day , i enjoy the journey from airport to resort as i love lokking at the sights and seeing the other hotels /accommodation that others are being dropped off at and think either OMG hope ours is not like that or WOW hope ours is like this , and then when we get there i feel awkward going to reception to book in and i think we have all done it 'thinking i dont like the look of them and i wonder where there from '.

Danny,

Helen and I and our OHs were going to Benidorm for Easter and we had travelled to Cardiff airport (about an hour and 20mins away) for our flight. My hubby dropped Helen and I off at departures whilst her husband went with mine to park the car. Helen and I went to the front of the check-in queue (hadn't opened yet) and I got hubby and my passports out ready. When our hubbies came to join us, Helen asked her OH for the bag with the passports and he replied with a smirk that she had them (he thought she was trying to panic him). Anyway, Helen had put her hubby's flight bag (complete with passports) in her hall and told her hubby not to forget it. He being hard of hearing couldn't have heard and it was left behind.

We had a moment of complete panic before we came up with the plan of phoning helen's daughter (hoping she still had a spare key) to come up half way to the airport where our hubbies would meet her. The race was on- Helen and I sat biting our nails, looking at our watches, watching check-in open and counting how many people had gone through whilst we waited for news from the men.

Luckily for us we always like to arrive at the airport stupidly early so the men made it back and through check-in with time to spare for a drink at the bar before boarding :D

What a experiance that must have been especially your airport being so far away from home!! :really Good job you had the car with you.

Id be numb with shock if that happened and the airport was that far away.

Good thinking of coming up with a plan anyway... bet you needed a strong drink after that... Luckily we are 20 mins here from the airport.

never ever leave men in charge of passports and tickets. :duh

I deal with that in our house...and then I know they are at the airport with us..not sat on the kitchen table at home!

Our house is never empty as Gav stays at home and does not holiday with us any more...

Hi Kazza,

We're not going to Benidorm this year. My last post was about our experience a couple of years ago. We stayed in the Levante club apartments.
