Well if you are looking for a city break for 4 days or so then most places you choose are going to busy, and full of tourists most likely - Prague is reasonable and popular for 4/5 days might try that. Barcelona is lovely but probably more expensive and would be very very busy as so popular with many tourists because of so many attractiions, the unfunished church, park, shops etc

Hi, have you thought of Turkey? You just need to be a bit careful where you choose if you wish to avoid anywhere very touristy. Some of the resorts on the Bodrum peninsula might suit you. Bodrum itself is very interesting, cosmopolitan and busy but stay in one of the quieter resorts nearby and you can have the best of both.

Any particular reason for 3-4 nights? Just that if you went for 7 nights then it opens up a lot of package holidays rather than flight + hotel. Also, if you went to say Turkey/Greece/Cyprus etc then you'd be spending almost a day travelling in total and even with a 4 night trip you'd only have 3 full days at your destination.

If you want a nice tan, good beaches, some culture and nice places to eat in the evenings then I'd say one of the Greek Islands would be good, but I really would look at going for a week to make the most of it. By the time you've paid for the flights the accom is cheap enough and a 7 night trip will cost little more than a 4 night, maybe less as packages may be cheaper than DIY.

Ah missed the 3 or 4 night bit. You wouldn't really want to go to Turkey for less than a week. What about a UK break? We have just returned from a few days in Falmouth it was lovely, lots to do and see and beautiful scenery. At night the harbour area was buzzing. With your budget you could probably stay in quite a nice hotel. Of course you can't guarantee sunshine there, we had some rain but still enjoyed ourselves.

I would agree with Lady Pink...Barcelona. The city itself has nice beaches and is within easy reach of sea side resorts should you fancy one. The city has bags of culture, restaurants galore, has a very good and cheap public transport system. Easyjet fly there from Bristol. Ryanair fly to nearby airports

How about flying to malaga ? only 2 and a bit hours flying time and there is an excellent train service from the airport down to fuengirola, you could base yourself anywhere along the coast and visit different areas on the train if you like to get out and about . :tup

you want warm.. then tenerife. Palma [Majorca] ,Malaga, Faro,

your 18 is this a parting holiday... Tenerife,Maliga,Faro.

is it a chill out with options? then the Algarve [via Faro] around Albefura will give you most options on a short flight, excellent beaches, clubbing on the strip, soft and gentle restaurants in the old town, short flight and reasonably priced

Malaga gives the options along a long stretch of the Costa del sol from quiet [tor-de-mar] to the hustle and bussel of Malaga

cant help much with the other two...

hi jesstonto......4 days is the awkward bit....means a DIY job I think.....if I was in your boat , living where I am I would be off to Salou...I did a 4 day break for my sons 16th last oct....and Salou was tailor made for the purpose......it will be hot in aug....has a good beach...a big theme park....some clubs....and Ryanair have schedualed flights in and out every day...

Now a week would be a different kettle of fish...Id be hot footing it to Pefkos in Rhodes...I was mooching to get an idea of cost for hols next year...somewhere to suit all my family....and there was packages from easyjet holidays for just over £400 SC for 7 days.....tweetie
