Sounds a good idea and I could see it being useful in this country too.
Yesterday I had to go to Rotherham, unfortunately there was no getting out of it.
What a mierda hole where you can be fined for dropping a cig butt and on the way back to the car we passed a fish n chip shop with people sat on the benches outside eating their fish n chips etc.

The nearby litter bin was over flowing and there were chips all around the area on the pavement, which had be trodden on and turned into a mushy slippery slop....and then the pigeons swooping in their dozens and the pigeon mierda all over the place.

This problem seems acceptable, but drop a cig butt and all hell and damnation will fall upon you from the indoctrinated righteous, who only see, what they want to see.

Looks like a good idea to me, I may get one for my cousin (the family's one remaining smoker) she carries a little box around with her at the moment but this envelope will fit in to her handbag easier.

AS a non smoker I hate to see fag ends littering the streets, but then I hate to see anything littering the streets and can't understand if the litter bins are overfilled why people can't take their rubbish with them. Just plain lazyness or couldn't care less I guess. What I really hate to see is chewing gum all over the place, some councils go to great expense in laying pretty tiled walkways in the villages and towns but within a short time these areas are covered with blobs of gum which unlike cigarette butts is hard to clean.
Sorry I'm going off topic.

The friend who bought it for me has one herself (she's coming on holiday with me next week - hence her buying me one) & she works in our town centre at the local Uni. Consequently, she spends her lunch breaks in the town & wouldn't dare discard anything in the street as we have CCTV & they shout at you 'Oi you in the blue coat outside Boots, who's just dropped abc pick it up or face a fine' :rofl

Also, & I totally agree with her there's nothing worse than having nowhere to put your litter when your out walking around off the beaten track on holiday. We are prepared! :tup

Update. Just returned on Monday and the stubbi was brilliant. Soft & compact it slotted into our small bags no problem. You don't have to stub your cigarette out simply pop it into the case, close the popper and that's it. It came in especially handy when we walked the 3 miles to the Ghost Village along the road through the forest. Can't beat it for the price :tup

Been using one of these for years. Bought in Australia before they came to the UK.

They do start to split at the sides eventually but for the price they're still good value and cheap to replace too.

Seems like a great idea to me..I don't smoke and I hate the site of squillions of fag butts all over the place. (you should see where i work, the bosses went and got all these fag bins and people still dock em right outside the front door..looks awful when we have visitors..and one of the biggest culprits is the MD!)

That said, I hate litter too and chewing gum and discarded food are 2 big bug bears of mine. Me and Rob always take a rubbish bag with us wherever we go...and on my travels I have noticed just how scruffy parts of the UK really are with litter etc.

I do think the fags thing might actually catch on over here...if people can be bothered to get out of the habit of just chucking them on the floor...

I used it again in Carihuela and it was brilliant. Definitely recommended for the smokers :tup
