If you are planning a holiday in Agadir for late July/August please be aware that the weather could be subject to sea-fogs that can blanket the whole area for most of the morning and sometimes all day.
We holidayed there 2 years ago in August and had 2 weeks of awful weather, with temperatures rarely venturing beyond 18/22 celsius due to the thick sea fog which is cold and damp and completely blocks out the sun, yet when we travelled just 15/20 miles down the coast the weather was scorching hot, more what you would expect from a country in north Africa.
Apparently this weather phenomenon is peculiar to Agadir, caused by the cold air from the Atlantic meeting the hot air of Agadir, resulting in sea fog, which is then trapped by the surrounding mountains.,
Any other time of year seems fine, and any other resort in Morocco seems completely unaffected, so just don't book for late July/August, or book another resort in Morocco, and don't listen to those who advise you that it is just a bit of sea mist that always clears up by mid-day because that was the advice we were given when we were thinking of booking the place and we wasted hundreds of pounds on a holiday spent wrapped in blankets because we hadn't taken any woolies!!
BE WARNED.
Agadir weather does seem to be affected by the headland to the north (old agadir)
