Well thats it!! all done and dusted for another year!

Had 3 fabulous weeks staying at the Club Maric apartments (situated next door to Club Amaris and just behind Club Turquoise)

We booked our holiday independantly this year, flights with EasyJet and accommodation through Hotels4U (not holidays4U!!!) so we had a really good deal which enabled us to have 3 weeks away

Had a one bedroom apartment looking over the pool. There are only 32 apartments in the hotel so its very intimate and very friendly which after staying at the Kocer for a number of times was to be honest a nice welcome change! It enabled us to make friends and have a really good holiday

There's a shop right next door which offered very favourable, commission free, exchange rate - ranged from 2.71 right up to 2.89 whilst there - it changed every single day! You could get all your staples from there ie; turkish bread for 1 lira but for any other stuff would recommend a little walk down to the Mega Market (ex Gima supermarket at Point Centre) as things were cheaper

Had many meals out! Our absolute favourite is O Yes on the beach - gorgeous food! A bit pricier than other places but you do get what you pay for! A steak plank was 28.50YTL, chicken plank 21.50YTL, t-bone steak (which was huge!!) 33YTL, beer 6YTL, large bottle of water 4YTL.

You can get various "meal deals" around - 3 courses for anything from 14.99YTL up to 23.99YTL.

Mayfair Restaurant (on main road) - 16.50YTL. Meals were ok here but portion sizes were smaller but adequate.

Le Madri (next door to Cihanturk) - this is a restaurant where you can have Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Steak or Italian. You get a starter, main and side dish for 14.99YTL. Food was nice but if you like spicy Mexican food (which I do!) suggest you ask for it to actually be spicy lol!! This restaurant got shut for 10 days whilst we were there for hassling people!! Apparently it's the 3rd time its happened to them this season - you'd think they'd learn eh!! They have entertainment on every night here too. They also offer BOGOF on cocktails which I think were 10YTL and they were 2 full size cocktails too so they were worth the money

Rovers Return - great food - can't remember the prices though but not too expensive

Mad Boys (Armutalan) - we went there on their Turkish night so was hectic!!! Food was nice but found my chicken in chilli & mushrooms to be swimming in an oily sauce which put me off a bit! Drinks up this end are expensive!! All the bars/restaurants say BOGOF but they are 8YTL for a bottle of Efes!!!! Considering most others bar around main road/beach are between 4-5YTL this aint exactly BOGOF!!!!

Great corner house (Armutalan) - again good food but slightly overpriced

Tasty bites - still one of the best kebabs at 2am lol!! They do seem to have hiked their prices over the years!! A small kebab was 9YTL!

Charlies Place (on main road) absolutely fantastic Sunday dinners! Best one we've had in Marmaris

Can't remember the others lol!!

Didn't do any trips this year! Have done loads over the years so not felt like missed out on anything! Talking to others the prices seem the same as last year - £10 for AI boat trip which is good value really

To me, the prices are much on a par with last year so we didn't feel like we spent too much - we had breakfast/lunch in our apartment and ate out every night. We also had a couple of drinks every night (some nights vodka which is 7-9YTL) and for 3 of us over the 3 weeks we spent £1,500!!! I'd say that was a bargain!

Got 3 pairs of Converse for daughter! Better pair cost £15, cheaper ones cost £10. Got some nice sweatshirts (2 for £25), trainers, Uggs were anything from £12 to £25 (reminds me! That was the first time I've ever got thrown out of a shop in Turkey for haggling - don't go to shoe shop next to Mayfair restaurant - miserable ******* lmao!!)

Dalaman airport is very expensive as most people know. You can take food through but not drinks so stock up on your crisps and snacks etc before you go. A lot of hotels etc actually will make you up an airport bag so you can have sandwiches etc. A bottle of water is 4.50YTL. It is unfortunate that they are cashing in on the fact you can't take drinks through security but prices are advertised very clearly so you know what you are paying and don't get ripped off when you come to pay.
