Most of the agencies are in Hisaronu so thats the best place to look.
Our favourite is Tinyakropol down at the bottom of the village where the Dolmus turns to go back and across from Pizza Pepinos, Yes they pick you up at your hotel and drop you off again.

Heres a rough guide to maximum prices you should expect to pay for a variety of trips and excursions in 2009.
But remember when in Turkey......haggle on prices, they can always come down a bit, The more trips you book with an agent the cheaper they are.

My daughter and her husband went on the Sunset Cruise last year (While we babysat!) They loved it, it was late August and the weather was sweltering, so it was a nice temperature. They enjoyed the beach barbeque where they lit a fire on the beach. They went for an all inclusive trip, I can't remember what the price was but I don't think it was that good a deal as you only drink a few beers over the evening. Its not meant to be a boozy trip. Just romantic and relaxing. I would'nt bother looking for an all inclusive deal.

Paragliding is a must for young people. It will be the highlight of your holiday!

I'd recommend Easyriders for that.

Also look on http://www.caroletayfun.com their prices are good (and 15% discount if you book online) and you'll see all the excursions and activities in detail on their site.

I loved the Ephesus & Pammukale trip but generally you have to stay away overnight as it's not possible to do it in one day. Swimming in cleopatra's pool at Pammukale is one of the best things I have ever done in Turkey.

Hi Haymans24

How long was the coach journey from Olu Deniz. I have always fancied this trip but my husband hates spending time in a coach while on holiday.

It's a loooooooooooong journey. About six hours if I remember rightly. We took the coach and had a meal stop along the way then went straight to Ephesus and walked around (very very hot, you need a hat and plenty of water and we went in May so in August I imagine it would be very uncomfortable). There is no shade there at all. You start at the top and work your way through the ruins to the bottom of the hill. It is absolutely amazing though, I've never seen anything like it before.

Then we were taken off to a hotel for dinner and belly dancing.

Next morning got up and had an hour or so in the coach to Pammukale. You can walk on the white bits of the mountain but you can't swim in the pools there anymore. There are also more Roman ruins and a huge amphitheatre. Then you go to Cleapatras pool which is in the same place and it's like swimming in warm lemonade! All the bubbles stick to your skin. It's really fab, I wanted to stay there forever!

Then you have the coach ride home - on our trip they made us stop at an Onyx factory which no one wanted to do but I think they get paid commission to do it so hey ho - and it was nice to stretch our legs.

So it's a long long trip and I would probably only do it if I were going for two weeks rather than one.

On the other trips.

You must have a Turkish Bath. My husband refuses to be rubbed down by a man :rofl but I think he's an idiot. Have it done on the first day of your holiday and it will prepare your skin for a lovely tan. If you have it done nearer the end you will find half your tan is rubbed away when they scrub you down!

The horseriding (at least the one near Kaya) is meant to be good. My husband goes every year and does it - I am afraid of horses so I sit by the pool with a book instead! He said they are very good at judging your level of skill. He's quite a good rider and they gave him a frisky horse, whereas the other people in the party were all novices and they gave them calm horses.

A boat ride out of olu deniz is also a must. It's a lovely way to spend the day diving off the boat.

My aunt has done the paragliding and she says the scariest thing about it is the drive up the mountain to the top in the jeeps :rofl

We have also hired a small speed boat out in Olu Deniz and been fishing - we weren't very successful but the man in the icecream boat stopped to talk to us for a while and took our fishing line and caught dozens of them! Be warned though - I have heard lots of stories of people who take out speed boats and then are charged with damage when they return it. Damaged propellers etc. We didn't have that problem though.

We've booked all our trips through Caledonia (that may not be spelled correctly) in Hisaronu and had no probs.

tell him he dos'nt now what he is missing its the first thing i do is get all the dead skin off to keep my semi permanent all over tan lol :sun2

Kaya Koy...walk or short dolmus ride from Hisaronu (where most of the nightlife/restaurants are)..deserted Greek village...excellent! Don't do with 'tour' just grab a dolmus and diy...MUCH cheaper.

Saklikent gorge..A MUST...and usually combined with rock tombs at Tlos.

Dalyan mud baths.

Yes Ephesus and Pumukkale definitely worth a visit..although unsure now if you're actually allowed to WALK on Pumukkale...but a swim in the pool is a must. Ephesus brilliant too...but hot! ..and is best done on an overnight basis. (recommend Hamish McTurk in Hisaronu!)

Paragliding off of Babadag Mountain...fantastic!! All four of us did it (sons went up in morning...we went in the afternoon...and after going up there in the jeep I was DEFINITELY jumping off the mountain as the trip up was !!!!! LOL)
