well heres the problem i have ,myself and fiancee booked our honeymoon to mexico after a lot of looking for the right 1 as im registered disabled with walking difficulties we finaly decided on the riu palace as has beach front and ticked boxes,we went in to thomson to book and was told the riu tequila was much better even though it wasnt straight on the beach front which we really wanted as you dont go to mexico for a pool ,we were told the hotel was really nice ticked all boxes and we also got to use the facilities of the yukatan thats on the beach so wasnt a problem in the day as also had a buggy take you there and you can get drinks food etc at the beach then so we didnt see a problem so decided to go with the info told to us and also says on thomson web that you get use of the other rius for food drinks so we booked ,then to my horror i found out by someone on facebook that the yukutan at the beach is closed when we go for refurbishment so no drinks or food once you get down there and a long walk back to the riu tequila every time u wanted a drink which i cant do,they never informed us we had to ring and ask and they confirmed its closed so unless i pay £50 each to be transfered to another hotel and the exta amount on top for another hotel we will both be stuck around the pool at the tequila for our honeymoon as i cant walk that far and we really didnt want this and wouldnt of booked if couldnt use thehe beach but we are now being told nothing they can do as we booked tequila but my argument is 1stly they misold us this as it clearly states on the all inclusive package we can use both other hotels for drinks meals exept evening meal but as there both shut being main 1 for the beach we cant now use as only found out yesterday its shut for refurb my fiance was given the run around on the phone for 2 hrs got nowhere im so upset as dont want to pay all that money to mexico for our honeymoon to be sat at 1 place round a pool we would of booked seafront to start with if hadnt been talkked in to this 1 and now upset instead of excited for our honeynoon and dont know where to go from here ? any help or advise would be great x

I would imagine that even if they didn't know about the closure (they dammed well ought to have known) - I knew about the closure and i'm not Thomson and neither am I going to Mexico this year!.
Bearing in mind they 'put you off' the Rui Palace, and persuaded you to choose the other hotel they ought to sort it out. I would go along to the shop and ask to speak to the original member of staff that you booked with and see what she has to say and then ask to speak to the manager if no joy. Remember not to raise your voice even though you may feel like it as I always find that being calm and collected gets you further.

we have contacted and they say as the tequila which we are staying in isn't the hotel being renovated then theres nothing they can do!! but they advertise the tequila as all inclusive use of the yukatan and playa car but they are renovating so cant use these now and i will be further away from the beach now stuck around a pool or if at the beach there will be noise from work being done and no drinks meals or facilities to use i feel i was misold this holiday we can change hotel but at a fee for admin charges and then the hotel costing a lot more and as we had a budget we feel tied i so wish now i had stuck with my 1st decision and not let them talk us in to this 1 i know i wont ever be booking with thomson ever again we had better service off teletext bookings and less hassle but we booked through agents as its our honeymoon im so angry !!!!
Have a look at Sandos Playacar. Beautiful beach- great restaurants. If you go for it- the adults only section is a must 
It is an ok walk from that section to the beach but in your case, there is transport from the lobby.
It does sound like you have been mislead- the person who advised you should have known about the closure. Don't give up

when are you due to go as my daughter is going to the yucaton in 2 weeks time ??? and have not been told they will be closed.

It's not closing till mid April as far as I know.
thanks both yes it looks like its april for at least 2 months.
