The Canarian government in their wisdom are apparently cracking down on what they call illegal lets, basically holiday lets. Cutting their nose of to spite their faces I say as they will be losing lots of tourist pounds.

So essentially our accommodation booked for the end of March has been cancelled, we have decided that as we don't want to risk it happening again we will just change our time of holiday and destination.

I have long wanted to return to Italy, been their twice, once on holiday to Catolica and once to Milan for business. As our flights are booked with Monarch we are limited to either Venice or Rome airports. I think they fly into Milan and Verona but they are little to inland.

We are a family of 5, kids 18,16,13 and I would like to be costal, nice restaurants, shopping etc. I expect we will need to hire a car and so looking for a drive of no more than an hour or two from airport. Having said that if there are other areas further away we could extend the holiday and split the driving over a day or so.
