Lyn I wouldn't eat at Giraffe's then. The last time we ate there it took 40 mins to deliver a couple of rounds of toasts and 2 coffees. Talk about panic mode!
We sometimes get a boots meal deal but quite often the night before we go we order pizza and whats left over leave in the fridge overnight then wrap the slices in tin foil and eat it cold at the airport!
We've always had a meal of some sort prior to boarding. Depending on the airport we either go to Wetherspoons, Burger King or other fast food outlet. Now that we are located in Turkey, we will take something with us from home because of the rip off prices at the airports.
The return journey is another matter however, as others have said regarding the rip off prices, even for a bottle of water! so we buy something in the resort to eat on the plane.....Caz
Now staying overnight at the radison manchester, and in the evening like to tuck into a good steak
Early flight, so a bacon roll is a must, and then some sanwiches after security
I always try to get something from the airport when travelling out of the UK, it breaks the waiting time up and after messing round with check-in, security, etc i need something snacky. Flying from manchester there are several resaurants and sandwich shops but they are all well above real world prices. I always call in boots and get their meal deals, you've got their full normal selection at the normal price, unlike WHSmith's version which was nearly double.
We've booked the Serviceair T1 lounge at Manchester Airport this year; my assumption is that food is included in the price of admission to the lounge so no breakfast for us
Anybody got any experience of the eateries at stansted airport, flying fron there this year lat time I flew from stansted was 2007 so can't remember much
Funniest thing I remember was coming back from Tunisia and I bought a snack at the airport. I said "How much?" and was told "27". This made absolutely no sense, in either sterling or dinar so I said "27 what?" "27 Swedish kroner" came the reply.

We don't know what's on offer at the lounge.
I think most of the Servisair lounges just serve snacks. It's normally nuts, biscuits, maybe muffins, tea, coffee, beer and wine. I believe there is one lounge in T1 called I think The Escape Lounge which serves bacon rolls and more substantial food.

I think he did the right thing.
To be honest I'd prefer coffee and biscuits especially as it's an early flight I'm a strict veggie so bacon butties are no good for me and my mum can't eat starchy foods so toast etc... is no good for her
Nice to know they offer something even if it is coffee, biscuits, nuts etc...
I did last flight I had, I went to Wetherspoons. I normally grab a drink from whereever too.
When we fly from Gatwick, it's early morning so we travel up the day before and stay overnight... we usually go to the leisure park at Crawley and go to TGI fridays...My bank account gets us free entry to the lounge where we do a few drinks and snacks before boarding...
