Last Christmas the employees in the company I work for in Cyprus were all surprised by receiving a complimentary hotel stay for 1 night at either the Annabelle or the Almyra Hotel in Paphos on bed + breakfast basis.
This weekend 12 April, we decided to take up the offer and stayed at the Almyra Hotel. This is the ultra modern looking hotel and while all the staff were exceptionally friendly and polite, we found after we had taken a look around the Annabelle we feel that would have been more suited to our traditionalist tastes.
But as a one off and certainly, we would never have paid those prices – it was a very pleasant stay.
Here are a few photos we took:
On the road to Akamas and Viklari "Last Castle" restaurant along Akamas route, Paphos
River outlet by the gorge at Akamas
Thistle near the gorge along Akamas peninsula
Kleftiko ovens by a house with a stunning view of the island at St George's harbour
The island at the end of the world - by St George's
Small restaurant by the beach at the Almyra Hotel in Paphos
Paphos Fort seen through one of the sheltered boxed seating areas along the coastal path at the end of the harbour
Edro III shipwreck at Sea Caves
The rest of my photos are here on my Flickr account: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjEGXf49
