Under the present situation indeed possibly much better to walk across. There is a bus stop a few metres after entry to Gib aand the bus for a around a pound will take you to casemates sq or indeed onwards to the light house. The walk will be round 15 mins from bborder to casemates or you could stop off around the marina for some rereshments.The asur campo gibraltar hotel is quite good (in la linea)and easy to walk across the border from. Plus La Linea itself actually has some fine and very reasonably priced Tapas bars - in a way far better than Gib during the evening generally. The hotels of Callaghan and Rock in Gib can be expensive, None of it as nice as loch lomond mind you!
