Now some of you may already know this but for those that don't you can usually find out your gate number before it goes up on the board. Simply google your flight number and 9 times out of ten it will come up with the flight details and gate number. This means that you can be first in line at the gate before the mass stampede. I'm not sure when this info goes on but keep checking google as it nears your boarding time.
It worked for us last week and daughter used it a lot on flights back and forth from Uni in Alicante.
....and if everyone does it the mass stampede starts earlier. Really can't be bothered, the aircraft isn't going anywhere till everyone is on.
Actually I made no reference to take off del 949. If you are early to the gate and have take on hand luggage it will be accessible during the flight if it's in the overhead lockers by your seat. We had 6 pieces of hand luggage that needed to be stowed during take off and landing as we were in the emergency aisles so for us it was worthwhile. Have a nice day.

Nowadays I just check my app , as it updates the gate number , saves having to get off my backside to check the screen in the lounge
