When to book
In Prague it can get pretty busy. Being the most romantic city in the world, does draw the tourists. This, combined with international conferences and special events, fills up the hotels and apartments. It is good to book in advance when it comes to New Year, Easter, Christmas and summer; in order to get a place. Do not just come to Prague hoping to find something, because more often than not, you won't.
Do's and dont's
It's good to avoid the taxi drivers waiting at ranks in obvious tourist locations. Hail a moving cab or call number 14014 to order a taxi. Make sure you are getting into an authorized taxi and the driver turns on the meter. It is safer to ask for the aproximate price before you get in the cab.
It's good to reconsider bringing girls back to the apartment or hotel since it can be very dangerous.
Don't park in the blue zone; if you do you will be clamped. Do not leave the car with the clamp or it is likely the car will be smashed or towed.
Don't change any money with people in the street!

seems the 3 day train pass is 200 czk or the 7 days is 250czk but they say prices are due to rise in july.
i think using a train pass is the sensible thing to do, as my hotel has a metro station right next door and is 2 stops from muzeum.
bit worried about how to validate the ticket once you have brought it, any info would be appreciated, my friend got caught for not validating hers on her last visit.
the 3day ticket rises to 220, the 7day to 280.
Ticket validation is easy: if going by tram or bus put it into the validator (like this: ) just after vehicle entrance,
if using metro, validate it WHEN ENTERING THE METRO AREA (usualy before downstairs).
thanks for that, will keep an eye out for those machines when i get there
so how/where do you buy this ticket and what is the cost,
if i arrive with one large suitcase and one shoulder bag is that priced as one or two bags ???
cheers for any replies
