We use Holiday Rentals and also Owners Direct.

Owners Direct is a lot cheaper and generates MORE INQUIRIES and MORE BOOKINGS.

We were in the same boat as you, just starting out, and cannot afford to pay lots of advertising costs, this one does not charge to put your villa on the site, but you pay 10% if they get you bookings. Sounds a lot, but if they dont get you bookings you dont pay. We have had quite a few enquiries from ours.

They are reasonably cheap, dont charge any additional commission and I took approximately 5 bookings from the website this summer, which resulted in my apartment being fully booked from early May to early October.
Im new to the rental market but this website is also one to be considered.
