I read that Czech Airlines were 'asking' passengers booked from Glasgow to fly from Edinburgh instead from 1st August onwards. But I have also heard of some passengers declining the invitation and being given a full refund, which they then use to re-book flights from Glasgow with Flyglobespan, sometimes at a lower cost.
Obviously as you are talking about a group booking, fares and availability may not be in your favour at this stage, but you should at least be asking Czech Airlines about a refund, and perhaps checking availability with Flyglobespan.

Our booking is with Czech airlines and involves the airports you have mentioned. I don`t have all the details as I was only told about this last night and we would now be flying midday instead of early morning and from Edinburgh instead of Glasgow. This would double our travel time from Ayr to our departure airport and will certainly be most inconvenient if we return late on a Sunday.

Flyglobespan are still showing some availability from Glasgow for those dates at £170.57. There are at least 9 seats still available, if your group is larger then that you would to make enquiries with Flyglobespan. Timings would suit for your transfer to/from Ayr, but are not ideal for a short weekend break:
19 Aug 05 (GSM163) GLASGOW - PRAGUE 11:35 / 15:00
21 Aug 05 (GSM164) PRAGUE - GLASGOW 15:30 / 16:55
But perhaps the group leader needs to speak to CSA first about a refund.

I will be better informed later today when the others get together .Flyglobespan timings may not now be to different from Czech airlines now as we were initially booked to fly at 7.30 am from Glasgow.
I`ve had a look at the Times article not good reading from our point of view.
it depends on how you booked the holiday, if you booked it through a tour operator who are atol bonded then you should be covered for the change, if you've done it yourself then you'll be lucky getting anything for the hotel.
Latest info I have is that we will still have an early flight 7.05 am but from Edinburgh. Probably means booking in at 5.am and some of the group are not happy with the extra travel and expense. Czech airlines website does not mention it`s withdrawal from Glasgow but has stopped bookings from the end of the month. It may be a bit late in the day to look for another group booking and understandably Prague was the big draw as none of us have been.
