Rep Trips!

normally costs about £20 and is all day trip including Nou Camp/main church/scenic viewpoint and probably a wander up las ramblas. you can wander round the souvenir shop at the Nou Camp for nothing, but if you want to do the trip inside that is about another£10 if i remember right, and you only get about an hour tops.
cost of replica shirts etc is quite pricy, but you can buy snide ones in most of the local tourist shops much, much cheaper.
if you do take other trips to Barcelona be aware that they almost all include trip to church and viewpoint, leaving not as much time as you thought for your main reason for going eg aquarium/bullfight.

I found the leaflet from last year's Lloret holiday - the Barcelona Sport & Shopping excursion "An excursion to Barcelona where we will visit the Olympic Stadium and the Barcelona FC ground, the 'Camp Nou', with visits to the museum and facilities. Free time for shopping." 32€ per adult (20€ per child) This leaflet was from the Sunways rep and the excursions were operated by Laietana Tours.
There were also other Barcelona excursions which included the Fountains, Aquarium, Sagrada Familia church, bullfights etc
We didn't actually go on any of the excursions from Lloret last year, it was just too hot to be sat on a coach for any length of time, but I would certainly consider doing a few trips if I went in Spring when it's a bit fresher :D

If you are staying near the railway, best way is to go to Barcelona on your own, using the train and the tourist buses to get around, they stop at the football ground and all the other attractions. this way you are not restricted to a timetable, and can spend as much time at any one place as you like.

hi paul- is there a train that goes from tossa to barcelona- or do you have to catch a bus to another train station?-what stop do you get off for the nou camp? and can you just buy tickets to look around once you are there or do you have to book?

There isn't a train that goes from Tossa to Barcelona. The only way to go by train is to go to the train station in Blanes and get the train from there (you have to get 2 buses, one to Lloret, then one from Lloret to Blanes). Unfortunatley, the last bus back from Blanes is around 8pm. The only other way to Barce from TDM is on the bus from the station, but you have to specify a time for coming back, which is a pain.

The best way is definatley to get there yourself rather than a rep trip as it's FAR cheaper (16 euros approx return adult), and you can see what you like at your own pace.

thanks for the info. as well as going for the day i thought my son would
like to see the nou camp-any idea about where to get off in barcelona or where to get tickets? which hotel did you stay in?- we are booked in at the bahia de tossa

We stayed in Tossa Park Aparthotel, which was lovely. I remember Bahia Tossa, though I can't remember much about it as we were only driving back to the airport on the coach, so I didn't pay much attention as I was feeling miserable! :D

The Metro is so easy to navigate around Sherry. A rough guide or a similar book usually gives you a map of the metro and things are often labelled anyway. The guide will also tell you which metro stop to get off at. A day's ticket on the metro is v cheap (certainly much cheaper than the tour bus). We didn't go to the Camp Nou last time as we have seen it before, sorry can't remember which station it is.
