Try Martin Luther King House - it's like a luxury former student residence for adults - all rooms ensuite, TV, coffee and tea making facilities, good food, a library, a bar, and the kindest and most helpful staff you could ever wish to meet. It's situated close to curry mile and Fallowfield but is very quiet and has ample car parking. Very close to buses to the city centre, and can be contacted on line. http://www.lkh.co.ukshould do the trick! I always stay here when visiting my son, and have never once been disappointed. Have a great time in Manchester!

That's a brilliant recommendation. I've been struggling to find 'decent' and affordable accommodation on bank holiday weekend - we're now booked into Luther King House!
